Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
In Australia, businesses with an annual turnover of $75,000 or more must register for GST. If your turnover is below this threshold, you’re not required to register, though you can choose to do so voluntarily. The only exception is for ride-sharing and taxi drivers, who must register for GST regardless of their turnover. You’ll only need to charge your customers GST if you’re registered.
For assistance with your GST registration, call 0413 772 228 or book an appointment online.
If one use fuel (petrol or Diesel) to operate heavy vehicles, equipment, or machinery as part of running their business, they may be entitled to claim fuel tax credits. These credits help reduce the overall cost of fuel by refunding some or all the fuel tax included in the purchase price.
To be eligible, your business must be registered for GST, and any fuel tax credit claims should be reported through your Business Activity Statement (BAS).
The amount you can claim depends on the type of fuel you’re using and how it’s used in your business operations.
